"MindUnity grew from my passion for providing care that truly supports people, helping them feel understood, regain balance, and build the resilience to live life the way they envision."

– Gemma Roper, Registered Mental Health Nurse & Founder of MindUnity

The Story Behind MindUnity

MindUnity was founded by Gemma, an experienced mental health nurse with a passion for the treatment of addiction and dual diagnosis. Originally from Shropshire, Gemma began her career in NHS community and inpatient substance misuse services, where she gained invaluable experience and developed expertise in supporting individuals with complex mental health and addiction challenges. After relocating to London, in 2015 Gemma transitioned into the private sector working at one of the country’s leading private mental health hospitals. During this time, she worked alongside industry experts, treating a broad range of mental health conditions and gaining exposure to the latest evidence-based treatments.

In 2018, Gemma took on the role of clinical nurse advisor, collaborating with several NHS trusts across southern England. She worked closely with teams in Psychology and Occupational Therapy and facilitated group therapy sessions, which further enriched her approach to care.

Throughout her career, Gemma recognised a critical gap in the system - many individuals were not receiving the personalised, holistic care they truly needed. Traditional addiction treatment services were often overwhelmed, impersonal, and fragmented. Gemma saw the clear need for a more integrated approach to care - one that not only addressed symptoms but treated the whole person. This vision led to the creation of MindUnity, a service designed to offer holistic, forward-thinking treatment for mental health, combining physical, psychological, and preventative care - all delivered in the comfort and familiarity of the individual’s own home.

Gemma’s vision for MindUnity is to empower individuals to regain control of their mental health and build lasting resilience. Our mission is to help people achieve long-term recovery, well-being, and independence, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives with lasting mental resilience.

At MindUnity, we are proud of what we’ve built and excited for the future. Our expert team is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalised care that makes a genuine, lasting difference in the lives of those we support.
